Sequoia Ultrasound
The Acuson Sequoia ultrasound system delivers vascular sonography and echocardiology, expanding diagnostic imaging capabilities at NMC.

Such tests were available on a limited basis earlier, but now can be performed on a regular basis at NMC.
The system provides such procedures as venous dopplers, arterial dopplers, carotid studies and echocardiograms.
It also includes Native Tissue Harmonic Imaging that captures clearer, sharper images than other non-invasive exams, making an accurate ultrasound available to those patients who are difficult to image.
About 30 percent of patients receiving ultrasounds are categorized as "difficult to image." They include those who are overweight or muscular, have narrow rib cages or a thick body wall. Often elderly, they also include those who have had surgery, chemotherapy or radiation treatment.??
