Blasi named CV lab services director at Newton Medical Center
6-28-10 Dean Blasi has been promoted to director of cardiovascular lab services at Newton Medical Center.

“Dean has done a wonderful job of developing our new CV Lab over the past year, said Vice President of Physician Services Val Gleason, in announcing Blasi’s promotion. “He and his expert staff helped our hospital learn the complex standards of care associated with these patients,” Gleason said.
Blasi is credited with developing good relationships with cardiologists. He introduced new procedures into the CV Lab, such as transesophageal echocardiograms, placement of vena caval filters, and implantation of permanent pacemakers and defibrillators. These innovations have allowed NMC to have greater efficiencies in its operating rooms.
